The Anishinaabek: Past, Present and Future

We’re honored to host this presentation by JoAnne Cook, a member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa & Chippewa Indians. She’ll discuss the history and culture of the Anishinaabek, exploring how indigenous peoples in the Great Lakes region have been impacted by dramatic social, economic and environmental changes. JoAnne has served the GT Band community in various capacities, including as a tribal judge, emphasizing peacemaking and restorative justice. She’s also spoken to many community groups throughout the region, helping to foster a greater awareness and appreciation of native issues.
